Welcome to "The 5 Tattvas" kundalini yoga series. This is a 5 week kundalini yoga and meditation course, working with the five elements: earth, air, fire, water and ether, to balance the physical, mental and emotional manifestations of energy, that make up who we are and how we show up in the world.

The water aspect in Kundalini yoga is all about the sacral chakra,

The water aspect in Kundalini yoga is connected to the vibration and frequency of the sacral chakra, and specifically the creative, sexual and emotional flow of energy in, around and through the body.

  • Water is about finding ways through difficulties...water always finds a way through, even if there are rocks in the way!
  • Water is about flow.
  • Water is about creativity.
  • Water is about finding joy in things.
  • Water is about finding connection and common ground in relationships.

Finding ways to incorporate water, especially natural bodies of flowing water into your life is the key to balancing this area: being in, on or close to waterfalls, rivers, streams and the sea helps to unblock, unlock and balance this energy. Taking a bath or shower is also effective.

Keeping this element in balance is about being in full awareness of your emotions, the nature of your relationships, your sexual and your creative energy, and how you express yourself.

How do you express your true self? Painting, crafting, writing, making, exploring, cooking, arranging, planning and so on? Finding and exploring ways to express yourself helps you learn about yourself. Find comfort and strength in being vulnerable and curious about yourself and others, and the world at large, and beyond the world!
