Course overview
Thank you for joining me on this 6 week journey to 'awaken to your potential' by softening, opening and balancing your 'crown chakra' - also known as the 'tenth gate' portal.
Crown Chakra / Tenth Gate
The top of the human skull is said to be the point where humans connect energetically with the angelic realm, to the cosmos, to source energy, and to the magical planes of existence far beyond the world we know (as adult human beings). It is the gateway to spaces, places and dimensions of infinite creation and potential; the gateway to your 'higher self'.
Our 7 year old consciousness shift
When we are born, this portal (the fontel) is said to be wide open, and it stays open up to about 7 years old when it seals, hardens and closes, and we loose our angelic realm connection, and this can result in all kinds of traumas playing out physically, mentally and emotionally, as the world that was once our magical colourful playground can quite suddenly become heavy with fears, limitations, judgements and anxiety.
Natural re-opening of this portal
Working on softening and balancing this area is possible at any time, but It is said that at about 42-49 years old this gate naturally begins to open again (energetically) and we have the opportunity to connect once again with the angelic realm by expanding into our infinite potential and experiencing our boundlessness, whilst exploring our soul purpose, and soul contracts and processing and healing any trauma around our 7 year old self.
Something Beyond
However old you are, this area is your connection to 'something beyond' - it is your umbilical cord to the universe, and when you feel called to connect, soften and balance this crown chakra, you create an opportunity for yourself to live to your fullest potential, see through the social and cultural conditioning, and reassess who you think you are and how you show up in the world.
Lesson overview
Lessons:
- Lesson 1: Foundation for infinity.
- Lesson 2: Becoming like angels.
- Lesson 3: The long chant.
- Lesson 4: Let the liver live.
- Lesson 5: Live young for a long time.
- Lesson 6: Energy, creativity, prosperity.
This fifth week, we are doing an intermediate kriya called 'Live Young for a Long Time.'
This set is an intermediate set which requires physical stamina, whilst sustaining a specific breathing pattern, synchronised with a particular movement of the hands. This powerful kriya was designed to match the vibratory energy of the age our world is moving into - although Kundalini yoga is of a timeless nature.
"This meditation is a pranayam, which means that it uses a powerful yogic breathing technique. Apply the mind very consciously as you coordinate the hand movement and breath. It works on the total health of the being, giving the vitality to live young for a long time."
- Ask yourself when facing a decision, 'what would my inner child/higher self like to do?' (with the maturity and wisdom of my experience as an adult as guidance, you can parent yourself in a whole new way that looks more like collaboration!)
- How can you bring more joy and spontaneous childlike actions and play into your day? (don't get 'childlike' confused with 'childishness' - one is innocent, curious and playful; the other is immature, demanding and inexperienced).
- Where can you be lighter in life? Choose where to spend your energy more wisely, so you can conserve your vitality and your vital life force energy for what is truly important.
As always, make adjustments to the position and breath-work, as and when you feel, to suit you. Intention is everything with kundalini yoga. No-one can do this work for you, so set your intention and do the practise as best as you can. Find your limit and honour yourself with a burst of vitality, approached with a light and open heart!
What you'll learn
- To keep a sense of youthful vitality present in your life no matter what you are going through as an adult.
- To find that sense of childlike curiosity, where you are open to exploring, trying new things and making changes in your life, no matter how old you are.
- To keep your energy consistent, steady and flowing.
